Senator Bam Aquino is the youngest senator of the 16th Congress of the Republic of the Philippines. A youth leader and social entrepreneur before being elected into the Senate, Senator Aquino is also the Philippines’s first social entrepreneur-senator.
He currently chairs the Senate Committee on Trade, Commerce, and Entrepreneurship and the Senate Committee on Youth.
Aquino is a known rival of Bongbong Marcos as evidence on their several arguments.
As recalled, Bongbong Marcos and Aquino had a heated exchange on the Senate floor after Marcos delivered a privilege speech on election irregularities.
Also, Aquino said the statement of President Rodrigo Duterte about former senator Ferdinand Marcos’ election protest is ‘troubling.’
Furthermore, Aquino was one of the senators who voted a resolution seeks to express the sense of the Senate that the crimes of his father Ferdinand Marcos and the human rights violations committed under his regime have rendered him unfit to be buried at the Libingan ng mga Bayani.
