Duterte gives gov’t execs until March to complete Yolanda housing

President Rodrigo Duterte warned the officials and agencies responsible to the Yolanda housing to finish it immediately until March.

Duterte was not upbeat for the slow transfer of the Yolanda victims to their permanent shelters in Tacloban City, Leyte.

“January, February, March. March, lipat na kayo dito at makabalik ako. Kung di matapos sa March, maggawa kayo ng limang krus, yung parang kay Kristo. Ipakarga ko sa kanila at ikot-ikot dito,” Duterte said.

The president didn't mention the name of the government officials. But he wanted that the remaining 8,816 families would be already transferred to their new home.

Meanwhile, Regional manager of the NHA Rizalde Mediavillo said that they will do their best to complete the project in the given deadline of Duterte. He said that due to the bad weather that causes the delayed.

“Talagang gagawin naming ang dapat gawin. Kung kinakailangan na mag overtime kami, mag overtime kami,” Mediavillo said.

Duterte on Wednesday attended the turnover of 1,100 housing units to families. The units are located in New Hope Village, Ridge View Village, Greendale, Guadalupe, Villa Diana, Villa Sofia and North Hill Arbours.
