POLICE have seized P110 million worth of suspected shabu in a buy-bust operation in Guadalupe, Makati City on Monday, November 21.
Southern Police District (SPD) Director Tomas Apolinario said two suspects, identified as Ma. Rosario Echaluce, 38, and Angelo Echaluce, 19, were arrested after they sold a kilo of shabu to a poseur buyer.
However during the arrest, the policemen recovered 21 one-kilogram packs of shabu from the suspects' bag, said Apolinario.
Apolinario said the seized illegal drugs are worth P110 million.
"Ito ay buy-bust operation. Sinubaybayan ito ng DAID (District Anti-Illegal Drugs) ng SPD at ito nga na-monitor namin. May magdadala papuntang Cebu kaya nag-conduct kami ng buy-bust operation," said Apolinario.
He said the suspects are connected to a drug syndicate which operates from the New Bilibid Prison.
Philippine National Police (PNP) chief Ronald Dela Rosa said the older Echaluce has a live-in partner detained at the NBP maximum security compound who is contacting a Chinese drug kingpin in Hong Kong.
"'Yung babae may ka-live in nasa maximum security compound sa Bilibid, 'yun ang contact sa Chinese sa Hong Kong. May tinatawagan na Instik sa Pampanga at 'yun ang nagpapadeliver dito," he said.
According to the suspects, the seized illegal drugs are intended for the market in Cebu.
He said they are yet to identify if the suspects have a link to the Visayas drug lords Franz Sabalones and Kerwin Espinosa. (Sunnex)
